Adrienne Birthday Present and Card

This is CO cute – Adrienne, a friend of Nathan’s at Playgroup is having her birthday tomorrow. Nathan helped choose her present, and also helped Angela to wrap it. As you can see, Nathan also wrote out the card all by himself! Click on the thumbnail to zoom the image.

Cluck Cluck

Nathan recited this poem:

“Cluck Cluck – Hello Mrs Hen, how many chickens have you got?”

“Madam, I’ve got ten … Four of them are yellow, Four of them are brown …

… two of them are speckled red, the nicest chicks in town!”

Babee Scans …

Went for a “check-up” today and even though Angela’s morning sickness is getting worse, Babee is all good and well. As per the calculations we’re 13 weeks – These two scans show Babee is all on track and correct size for 12 weeks, 5 days … Close enough :-)

Was amazing to see Babee’s heart beating , and Babee also waved at us …

Eid Puzzle Progress

It is Thursday evening, and tomorrow I go back to work after a three day break for Eid. Prior to that I was only in the office for two days, one of which was still private sector holiday due to the mourning period for the passing of Shaikh Maktoum.

Friday as usual will be my weekly day off, but after that it’ll be full steam ahead, back to work!

Angela (and Baby) is/are ok. Angela’s morning sickness comes and goes: Some days she can’t eat much, but other days she can. We’re both thankful and Praise God as she crosses into the second trimester as the pregnancy goes into it’s 13th week and the risks of miscarriage drops considerably.

‘parently baby weighs about 14 grams and is about 10cm tall, already has fingerprints and is virtually complete in all aspects except size, and of course breathing air – Just using the rest of the time to grow a bit.

Nathans picture of his baby - Body to be completed later ...Nathan is very excited about the promised new addition to the family, and today drew this picture of the baby. Note how baby only has a head, eyes, nose, ears and mouth. That dot below the mouth is the babies chin.

Nathan said that ’cause we don’t know yet if it’s a boy baby or girl baby, he’ll wait and draw the body later.

Nathan was also VERY excited when we told him that the baby will be “sharing” a room with him. He said “Yes, Yes!” excitedly and continued, “and we can get baby a bed, and put the bed in my room, and I’ll look after baby in the night when she, I mean he … I don’t know what … wants a dummy!”

2000 Piece Puzzle - 11 Jan 2006 at 8pmWe haven’t had much time to build puzzle. Today Angela and I did about an hours worth of work, and during the last week in total we did about another hour and a half or so, but the castle, and mountains are virtually complete. All that’s left now is the sky and the forest. Click on the thumb-nail for a full-sized image of the progress.

And so to bed …

Ruler of Dubai passes away

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Dubai Ruler’s Court today announced the death of the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister.

Shaikh Maktoum died in Australia.

The country will be in mourning for 40 days; local government organisations and departments will be closed for one week starting today. The private sector (like where Roy works, will be operational again on Sunday)

Castle Completed

We had a rather busy day, re-arranging our bedroom, and spending the afternoon at Safa Park with Nathan – Managed about an hour or so of puzzle building: Each piece we add is a piece less we have to search through to find the next piece :-)

We’ve completed the Castle of our 2000 piece puzzle (I did most of the white bits, while Angela tackled the more complicated forest below and around it) I’ve also made some progress with the snow-covered mountain peaks to the top-left of the picture. Pretty soon we’ll need to draw the battle lines between blue sky and green forest …

Puzzle Progress

Angela and I spent the morning “spring-cleaning”, but during breakfast and our tea-breaks we were able to progress a little further with the puzzle …

Nathan is loving it, although his input is more commentatory in capacity: “It’s a wonder puzzle Dadee!”

Nathan Faces

Nathan has been drawing a lot these last couple days – Here’s a self portrait of him. He smiled when he finished drawing it, proudly stating “I look as pretty as my picture, don’t I Dadee?”

Border completed …

3 hours later, border done (Angela is really good with that sorta thing) – I got frustrated and started building the white bits of castle …

Border Competed

2006 pieces to go …

Before Nathan was born Angela and I used to enjoy building 500+ piece puzzles – Since then we usually max out with Nathan’s 100 piece ones. However, for 2006 we decided we’ll give this 2000 piece baby a go.

New Years Puzzle

This photo was taken a few minutes ago, and Angela is sorting the pieces as I write, looking for the border will be objective number one.
