Gods Yellow Pages

Got a link to this via e-mail today – It seems it was originally put together by someone at Divine Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garland, Texas.  Anyway, I found it very intestesting:

Luke Art

This morning Luke wanted to “Colour” and here’s the result – His circles are looking very rounded and he seems to have a pretty good understanding of the various different usages of colour – Not bad for our little 20 month old :-)

Strange Rituals

It’s weird, but this being our sixth year in Dubai we’ve developed some strange “Family rituals” over time – This morning for instance: Angela was taking a shower, and through the mist and pitter-patter I heard her simply stating: “It’s time” …

I stopped brushing my teeth and ran my fingers under the water from the tap for a few seconds and concurred: “Yup, It’s time …”

“Do you want to do it? Do you think Nathan should? Is he old enough to understand? I don’t mind if you want to do it – Yes we could do it together? Okay, I’ll do it then …”

And with that, I turned off the water heater in en-suite bathroom – The water from our “geyser” (the red tap) is now about the same temperature as that from the direct line (i.e. blue for cold) – But turning off the water heater (we end up doing this every year sometime in May) results in a “mind-switch” when the water from the blue tap is hotm as the outside plumbing seems to heat it up considerably in the warm Dubai sun – The water from the red tap, no longer heated when turned off, is kept in the “shade” of the room-mounted geyser is then “cold”.

Life in Dubai certainly keeps things interesting :-)

Dubai Skyline

An amazing view of one of Dubai’s city skylines.

This picture was not taken from an airplane, but from the world’s tallest building : Burj Dubai @ 2,620 ft / 801m

(I got this from a friend via email, it may well be copyright – Apologies it so)
