Working at being ’salty’ (Matt 5:13) with some old friends from ‘another life’…
Was reading Genesis 12 today – started thinking Abram must’ve had a good friend in Lot. I’m very thankful for good friends in my life, like my dear brother Al who I spent a wondeful afternoon with …
Can’t help but feel proud of the pretty Metro Stations here on Dubai. Yet, as I reflect on my reading from Job this morning, I’m reminded who really is the creator of all “He sees everything that is high; he is king over all the sons of pride.” Job 41:34
Finished reading and discussing this book as staff today – Excellent read, I highly recommend it! “… warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” Col 1:28
The iCake – my lovely wife brought a cake to work today for us to celebrate my birthday (which was 2 days ago) – knowing me well, she made an iCake :-) “An excellent wife I have found! She is far more precious than jewels.” Prov 31:10
Cleaning the dishes with Nathan (on washing) and Luke (on rinsing) … On a different note, I was keenly reminded from reading Job 4 and 5 this morning that no-one can be made right with God by their own efforts: Thank God for Christ!
So (like a few of my friends and colleagues) I too am committing to upload ‘a photo a day’ for the next year … Except I’m starting today, my 34th birthday. Today’s photo is one of Nathan and Luke cuddling on the couch – Angela and I love how well the boys get on together and nothing warms our hearts more than when we hear them giggling and laughing as they play together. Verse for today “I thank my God in all my rememberance of you” Phil 1:3
Nathan and Luke have been built a maze for Roy’s Hexbug to run through … pretty cute!
It’s really fun for us to watch the baby hamsters, especially when three of them try to use their wheel at the same time; when all three point the same direction it works pretty ok, but pity on the hamster who ‘wheels’ to the right when his two brothers are ‘wheeling’ to the left …
The recordings from “The Scandal of the Cross” are online at http://uccdubai.com/scandal What a blessing Dr Carson was to us here in Dubai!
End of the ‘Scandal of the Cross’ conference with Don Carson – Wow! So glad we were recording, should be online in a couple days …
On a break between first and second session of Carson “Scandal of the Cross” conference – Amazing teaching about Christ and what he did!
Dr Don Carson arrived on Dubai a few hours ago: Getting ready for a weekend of great teaching on ‘The Scandal of the Cross’
Encouragement from Isaiah 55:6 and Heb 11:6 to continually be seeking the presence of God, despite His obvious omnipresence
Wonderful reminder in Hebrews 1 this morning of just “Who Jesus is” In relation to God and the other celestial beings
Just been encouraged greatly by Psalm 16:3
What a blessing to meet with 20 like-minded Christians: To worship and pray and discuss Our Great God and Savior … EVERY MONDAY!
Been chatting for a old friend, Randhir, who despite numerous physical, mental, medical and emotional challenges continues to Glorify God!
Been praying and reading (book of James) … Can’t sleep, but enjoying the time alone with God.
